Motorcycle riding gloves
Your hands are usually the first thing to touch the ground in a fall, which is why we suggest gloves even for short city rides. A glove should cover the wrist, protect the knuckles with a hard or padded shell, and have a reinforced palm.
Short gloves are easy to wear in traffic and summer heat. Gauntlet and touring gloves cover more of the wrist and suit highway riding, while off-road gloves trade some protection for feel on the levers. If your phone is mounted on the bars, look for touchscreen-friendly fingertips.

Questions riders ask
How should riding gloves fit?
Snug across the palm with no loose material at the fingertips, and your fingers should not press against the ends when you grip the bars.
Are short gloves safe enough?
Short gloves with knuckle and palm protection are fine for city riding; for highway or touring use, gloves that cover the wrist give more protection.
